Canadian Diabetes Association

Canadian Diabetes Assoc.

According to Medical Experts an estimated 246 million people worldwide are affected by diabetes and that number is expected to rise to 380 million by 2025.  There is a chance that this disease affects someone you know. We are proud to support the work of the Canadian Diabetes Association through charitable giving. We know that by helping Canadians and their doctors gain affordable access to newer, safe, and effective medications, devices and supplies, we can free up hospital beds and ultimately reduce costs across the country. The research excellence and innovation provided by some of Canada’s most renowned scientists and physicians will lead the association towards a future in which:

  • All people affected by diabetes attain an optimal quality of life.
  • All people in Canada realize that diabetes is a major health issue.
  • Ultimately, diabetes is eliminated.

The Canadian Diabetes Association works in more than 150 communities across the country to promote the health of Canadians through diabetes research, education, service and advocacy. Canada is recognized as a global leader with our strong network of volunteers, employees, healthcare professionals, researchers, partners and supporters. Help us to help someone you know.

American Heart Association

Childhood obesity has become North America’s leading health threats. Today nearly 1 in 3 children and teens in the U.S. are overweight or obese. The obesity epidemic is clearly taking its toll, as more and more kids are developing conditions and diseases typically associated with adults. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 in 3 individuals born in the year 2000 will develop type 2 diabetes. In vulnerable populations, that number increases to 1 in 2 individuals. If obesity among kids continues to increase, many believe this current generation of young people will become the first in American history to live shorter lives than their parents.

We are engaging to create solutions that improve children’s access to healthier foods and encourage physical activity that will inspire all young Americans to develop life-long healthy habits.
